Therapeutic & Counselling Services for BME Survivors

This is a specialised counselling service specifically developed for BME women that aims to meet the psychological and practical needs of BAME women who have suffered domestic abuse through the provision of a safe and confidential environment for BME women survivors to:

  • Talk about their experiences
  • Learn to come to terms with their trauma and experiences
  • Rebuild their confidence
  • Gain autonomy

We offer bilingual and culturally sensitive counselling which takes into consideration the wider social cultural and political context and provide individual counselling and group therapy for survivors. We also offer family therapy sessions in partnership with Barnardos as well as Parenting advocacy.

The counselling service aims to meet the psychological and practical needs of BME women who have suffered domestic abuse in a culturally sensitive way, which takes into consideration the wider social cultural and political context. Our holistic model of support means we often link into casework with each survivor so the practical needs of women are supported.
