The Saheli Group is a network of regional survivors and women in recovery that meets regularly to develop interpersonal, social and intercultural skills, gain confidence and safe neworks of recovery as well a pathways to longer term autonomy. The Saheli Group meets and takes part in regular activities and are often consulted at local, regional and national levels about the effects and impact and domestic and sexual abuse on BME women and children as well as informing the advocacy and support services that the Angelou Centre and other services provide.
The Saheli Group activities include:
- Developing Peer Support
- Overcoming social isolation
- Building support networks, community networks
- Providing culturally relevant social, educational and recreational activities
